Volleyball Recap: Regina Dominican's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

It was a good run, but Regina Dominican unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Leyden Eagles by a score of 2-1. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Leyden got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Prokop out in front who had 13 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Prokop has posted since back in September. Savannah Beatovic also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Regina Dominican's loss dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Leyden, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-21 record this season.

Coincidentally, Regina Dominican and Leyden will both be playing South Elgin the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Storm at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
