The Knightdale Knights had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They secured a 43-39 W over Wake Forest. The win was all the more spectacular given Knightdale's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Wake Forest is ranked 79th).
Knightdale found their leader in underclassman Abigail Taylor, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. Andrea Watkins was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Knightdale's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. As for Wake Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knightdale will take on Heritage at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Heritage is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Wake Forest, they will be playing at home against Wakefield at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wakefield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Monday.
