Football Recap: Sebastian Johnson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Middleburg

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mainland walked away with it. They blew past the Middleburg Broncos 34-13 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Mainland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sebastian Johnson out in front who threw for 278 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt. Chris Butler was Johnson's top target, picking up 104 receiving yards and one score.

Mainland is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points over those games. As for Middleburg, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Mainland will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mosley at 7:30 p.m. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 860 yards in their previous games. Middleburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
