The Stanton Mustangs put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Mead 78-6 at home. Fans of Stanton have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Stanton was led to victory by Becker Pohlman and Barrett Wilke. Pohlman gained 194 total yards and three touchdowns, while Wilke rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Wilke was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. Mitchell Hupp was another key contributor, picking up 133 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Stanton's win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41 points. As for Mead, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Stanton will be playing in front of their home fans against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. Mead does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
