The Tug Valley Panthers lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were beaten by Shelby Valley 63-36. Tug Valley has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Tug Valley had strong showings from Bailee Hall, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Haven Deskins, who scored 17 points along with six steals. That was a full 47.2% of Tug Valley's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Tug Valley's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Shelby Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.
Tug Valley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Raiders at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully River View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Shelby Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
