This season hasn't been kind to the Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They were outmatched by Sarcoxie on the road and fell 64-33. Jefferson Independent Day was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sarcoxie apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kohl Thurman, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Thurman scored a full 33.3% of Jefferson Independent Day's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Twiss, who scored 11 points.
Jefferson Independent Day has fallen quite a ways from their 21-7 record last season and are now at 0-4. As for Sarcoxie, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Jefferson Independent Day will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Diamond at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. As for Sarcoxie, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Verona at 6:00 p.m.
