Hayden Smith posted a new career-high in runs on Thursday. He scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Pewamo-Westphalia: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 10-14 otherwise.

Smith's strong effort led Pewamo-Westphalia over Lansing Christian and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates are a perfect 6-0 against the Pilgrims going back to May of 2018, a lead they'll look to extend.
