The Vallejo Redhawks and the Acalanes Dons squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Vallejo Redhawks had to settle for second. Vallejo was beaten by Acalanes 56-20. Vallejo's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Vallejo's loss came despite strong showings from Jasier Smith and Sedrick Vaughn. Smith threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns, while Vaughn picked up 103 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Leading Acalanes to victory were Trevor Rogers and Jack Miller. Rogers threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes, while Miller rushed for 76 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Kuhner, who picked up 78 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Vallejo's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Acalanes, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Vallejo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Acalanes will take on San Marin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Marin is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
