South Wake will be up against a hot South Guilford HomeSchool squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. South Guilford HomeSchool blew past Surry HomeSchool 58-28 on Saturday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Runnin' Patriots are ranked 444th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Guilford HomeSchool to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isa Bosch, who posted 15 points and seven rebounds. Bosch has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kourtney Bullins, who scored 17 points and four steals.
South Guilford HomeSchool was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They are a perfect 28-0 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and South Wake had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past Surry HomeSchool, posting a 73-19 win. The victory continues a trend for the Sabres in their matchups with the Runnin' Patriots: they've now won three in a row.
South Guilford HomeSchool better keep an eye on Rebekah Hartzell. She was instrumental in South Wake's win, shooting 64% from the field on her way to 23 points along with seven assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Taylor, who earned ten points in addition to seven steals and five assists.
South Guilford HomeSchool's record is now 30-3. As for South Wake, their record now sits at 29-2.
Saturday's contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Bullins and Hartzell. Bullins has been dynamite this season: she has averaged 15.6 points, 1.8 blocks, and 2.1 steals. For her part, Hartzell has averaged 17.8 points, 3.7 steals, and 4.5 assists on 56.1% shooting.
South Guilford HomeSchool and South Wake were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January, but South Guilford HomeSchool came up empty-handed after a 43-42 defeat. Can South Guilford HomeSchool avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
