Flag Football Recap: Valdosta Piles Up the Points Against First Preparatory Christian Academy

While Valdosta put up some points on Thursday, the same can't be said for First Preparatory Christian Academy. The Wildcats blew past the Highlanders 28-0. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Highlanders are ranked 250th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Zikyriah N. Williams had an outrageously good game as she threw for 302 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown. Kimora N. Griffin did her part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 84 receiving yards.

Another reason for the win was Valdosta's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for nine sacks. Emari 'Ebo' Bivins led the group effort, picking up four of those sacks all by herself. Another thorn in First Preparatory Christian Academy's side was Christan M. Wright, who made seven total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception which she returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Valdosta has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.2 points on average over those games. As for First Preparatory Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Valdosta didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-7 victory against Georgia Christian on the 30th. As for First Preparatory Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Long County at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
