The West Henderson Falcons pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hendersonville. West Henderson has not had much luck with Hendersonville recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, West Henderson still got an impressive performance from Jackson Lyda, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grant Putnam, who scored 6 points along with 13 rebounds.
Hendersonville was led to victory by Malachi Simpson and CJ Landrum. Simpson dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Landrum dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Simpson has scored at least 25% of Hendersonville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir Albany, who scored 6 points.
West Henderson's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Hendersonville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
West Henderson will play host again and welcome Enka, where tip off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Enka focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Hendersonville, they will head out on the road to face off against East Henderson at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
