The Camp Hill Lions will challenge the Bermudian Springs Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Camp Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Camp Hill is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 24-2 margin over Hanover on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.
Camp Hill got a massive performance out of Haley Kessel, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that Kessel has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsay Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Camp Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Bermudian Springs came up short against Delone Catholic on Wednesday and fell 7-4.
Katelyn Willow made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lilianna Carre, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Camp Hill's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Bermudian Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Camp Hill hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bermudian Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Camp Hill couldn't quite get it done against Bermudian Springs in their previous meeting back in March of 2015 as they fell 8-5. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
