IV Section II recap October 29, 2013
Walden Grove added to the longest winning streak in IV Section II this week by beating Rio Rico, 21-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for Walden Grove.
Sahuarita led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Santa Rita. Olen Brown ran for 114 yards in the win.
Ray Holbrook threw for 308 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 20-27 with 1 interception.
Holbrook put up the best numbers through the air as Amphitheater fell to Combs. Holbrook's favorite target this week was Abraham Pantoja, who caught 5 passes for 123 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Holbrook of the Panthers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,969. He has also thrown 19 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Milo Fragoso. The Sahuarita star has 41 catches for 799 yards.
Amphitheater's Holbrook is within 31 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Eagles.
Chris Garrobo of the Safford is only 17 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 108 carries Garrobo has accumulated 983 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Walden Grove takes on the Bulldogs. Walden Grove is currently in fourth, while Safford is in first.
