The Poplar Springs Atomics will face off against the Bethlehem Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Poplar Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, it was close, but Poplar Springs sidestepped Malone for a 42-39 win.
Among those leading the charge was Anthony Shiver , who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhett Tate, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Bethlehem put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Malone by a score of 52-41. Given Bethlehem's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Malone is ranked 463rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The losses dropped Poplar Springs to 2-3 and Malone to 0-6.
Poplar Springs came up short against Bethlehem when the teams last played back in January, falling 45-37. Can Poplar Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
