The West End Patriots will face off against the Cedar Bluff Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West End is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games.
West End's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over Shelby County. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.
West End let Addie Pierce and Braylee King run wild. Pierce went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while King went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI King has posted over her last 13 games. Another player making a difference was Kennedi Nix, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
West End always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shelby County only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Cedar Bluff made sure to put some runs up on the board against Gaston on Thursday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 14-8 win. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 17, 2025, but that streak is no more.
Mak Kimmons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Kylie Vadon was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-5. Those home runs were her first of the season. Piper Cromer was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs and two doubles.
West End's victory bumped their record up to 23-7. As for Cedar Bluff, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West End hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Cedar Bluff struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went West End's way against Cedar Bluff in their previous matchup back in February, as West End made off with a 15-0 victory. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
