Ronan is 0-6 against Columbia Falls since October of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ronan Chiefs will be playing at home against the Columbia Falls Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Ronan at home against Park as the squad secured a 43-14 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-6.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ronan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kolby Finley, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 121 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Davonne Curley, who picked up 118 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Ronan, racking up 13 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Jason Matthew teague ii: he added nine points with three field goals, and another four kicking extra points.
Meanwhile, Columbia Falls faced Bigfork in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Columbia Falls put the hurt on Bigfork with a sharp 52-30 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for Columbia Falls, who have now won five matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Cody Schweikert continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 172 yards and five touchdowns, while also throwing for 377 yards and two touchdowns while completing 86.2% of his passes. Chance Miller also helped out as he racked up 109 receiving yards.
Their wins bumped Ronan to 4-4 and Columbia Falls to 5-2.
Ronan took a serious blow against Columbia Falls in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, falling 44-16. Will Ronan have more luck at home instead of on the road?
