Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Montgomery walked away with it. They breezed past the Muncy Indians to the tune of 33-0 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Red Raiders sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montgomery to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trace Furman, who rushed for 143 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Those 143 rushing yards gave Furman a new career-high. Josh Knoebel also helped out as he racked up 103 rushing yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Montgomery proved: they limited Muncy to a paltry 2.5 yards per carry. While three picked up at least six total tackles, Furman stood above the rest. He rushed for 143 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Montgomery didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.2.
Montgomery's defense didn't let Andrew Walters, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Mason Bryson refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
Montgomery's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Muncy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
