Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Plano East walked away with it. They came out on top against the Hebron Hawks by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on six straight.
Plano East had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 27-25, 25-20, 25-15.
Simone Heard paced Plano East's offense, picking up 22 kills. Heard got some help from Megan Nguyen and her 23 assists. Addison Tucker controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Despite the loss, Hebron saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zoe Miller had 18 digs and four assists.
Plano East's victory bumped their record up to 29-10. As for Hebron, with the defeat, they broke their seven-match winning streak and moved their record to 26-12.
Plano East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Lake Highlands on the 4th. Hebron does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
