Softball Recap: Woodcreek Has No Trouble Against Bella Vista

Woodcreek lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Bella Vista, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Timberwolves blew past the Broncos 12-2 on Friday. The Timberwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Maddy Macneil spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Camryn Kelley was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most triples she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Chloe Preuss, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Woodcreek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Woodcreek is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Bella Vista, they dropped their record down to 9-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Woodcreek will venture away from home to face off against Folsom at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bella Vista, they will welcome Vista del Lago at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
