The Springstead Eagles posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 66-24 victory over Citrus. With Springstead ahead 35-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Austin Nicholson was his usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Ryan Sayre, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Springstead pushed their record up to 12-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Citrus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-15.
Springstead won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Land O' Lakes at 8:00 p.m. on January 24th. Land O' Lakes has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 4. As for Citrus, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Belleview at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Belleview is ranked 688th, while Citrus is ranked 667th).
