Servite came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 75-44 win over the Marina Vikings. The Friars pushed the score to 57-34 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings had little chance of recovering from.

Servite was led to victory by Jake Schutt and Tariq Johnson. Schutt went 6-for-9 to rack up 15 points and eight rebounds, while Johnson shot 50% from the field on his way to 18 points along with five assists and three steals. Johnson has also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Hugh Hannan was another key player, shooting 45% from the field en route to 12 points.

Servite's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Marina, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Servite will take on St. Bonaventure at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Marina, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Laguna Hills at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
