The Heritage Patriots came tearing into Tuesday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 goals) and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand Freedom a 5-0 shutout. Heritage might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven contests by four goals or more this season.
They hit Freedom with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Baylee Gregerson (3),
Alyssa Wilright, and
Brynn Faulkner.
Heritage's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those five matchups. As for Freedom, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4-3.
Heritage's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Heritage has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 25 goals over their last four matchups. As for Freedom, they will head out on the road to face off against Deer Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Deer Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
