Carlson had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 17-19 to make it five. They came up short against the Huron Chiefs, falling 12-5. If the Marauders were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Chiefs when the teams met back in May of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Carlson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Borowski, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Joseph Krolak was another, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
As for Huron, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.
On Huron's side, Dayton Miller made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Miller was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Keaton Diserens and Gavin O'Hara dominated on the mound. Diserens pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits, while O'Hara tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. O'Hara has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jakob Furkas, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Banas, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As of now, neither Carlson nor Huron have any future games scheduled.
