Last Thursday, Forest Lake Academy came up short against Apopka and fell 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Blue Darters: they've now lost three in a row.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 21-25, 25-22, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Forest Lake Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ethan Hazen had 14 digs. Hazen has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times he's played.
Meanwhile, Academy of Central Florida National got the win against Lyman last Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Bulls.
Academy of Central Florida National never let Lyman on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-13, 26-24.
Forest Lake Academy better focus on containing Samuel Ortega and Luciano Carrillo as the pair were huge in Academy of Central Florida National's win. Ortega had 21 digs and two aces, while Carrillo had 41 assists and seven digs. The dominant performance gave Ortega a new career-high in digs.
Forest Lake Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Academy of Central Florida National, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
