On Tuesday, the Lone Peak Knights faced the Skyridge Falcons in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lone Peak really took it to Skyridge for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-30 win at home. Lone Peak has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 25 points or more this season.
Lone Peak's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sarah Bartholomew led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawnee Nordstrom, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Skyridge struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Lone Peak now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Skyridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lone Peak will take on American Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. American Fork will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Lone Peak is ranked fourth). As for Skyridge, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lehi at 6:00 p.m.
