Gatewood and Windsor Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2020, but likely not for long. The Gators will head out to take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gatewood will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Gatewood will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Thomas Jefferson Academy, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. The Gators blew past the Jaguars 9-1 on Monday. Considering the Gators have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Riley Roberts was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lily Arthur and Ellie McMillian did most of the damage at the plate: Arthur went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while McMillian went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Colbie Stolley also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Fullington Academy hit Windsor Academy with a five-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights fell 6-3 to the Trojans. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Madelyn 'Maddie' Price was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.
Gatewood's record is now 10-7. As for Windsor Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Gatewood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Windsor Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Gatewood took their win against Windsor Academy in their previous matchup back in August by a conclusive 13-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
