Parsons took their game against Anderson County on Monday by a conclusive 39-14 score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Parsons had established a 33-0 advantage.
Meanwhile, Osawatomie took a serious blow against Santa Fe Trail, falling 0-40. Osawatomie were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-20.
Parsons's victory lifted them to 2-0 while Osawatomie's loss dropped them down to 0-2. In their victory, Parsons relied heavily on senior Gage Friess, who threw 3 TDs and picked up 71 yards on the ground; a key strategy for Osawatomie will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
