On Friday, The Manchester Squires''s game was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Central Noble by a score of 28-21. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Manchester.
Logan Eastgate looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 93 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 176 yards and two touchdowns. Eastgate was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Manchester also got a significant boost from Reiss Gaerte, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Central Noble to a paltry 239 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Manchester's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out eight times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Trace Murphy and Preston Duffy who racked up five sacks between them.
Central Noble's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Morgan, who threw for 213 yards and three touchdowns.
Manchester's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Central Noble, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-7.
Manchester will be playing at home against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Manchester in Indiana (Fort Wayne Bishop Luers is ranked 107th, while Manchester is ranked 250th). Central Noble does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
