Holly Hill Academy and Jefferson Davis Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since August of 2019, but not for long. Holly Hill Academy will take on Jefferson Davis Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Holly Hill Academy comes in on nine and Jefferson Davis Academy on four.
Holly Hill Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Cross, who was ranked 13th at the time (Holly Hill Academy was ranked third). The Raiders simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Stingrays 56-12. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won seven games by 22 points or more so far this season.

Parker Kizer had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 332 yards and five scores on only ten carries, while also throwing for 62 yards and one TD. Those 62 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Holly Hill Academy also got a significant boost from Jayden Krier, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Holly Hill Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 458 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 221 rushing yards in ten consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jefferson Davis Academy). They had just enough and edged out King's Academy 74-72. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since August 30, 2024.
Holly Hill Academy better keep an eye on Gregory Lihan. He was instrumental in Jefferson Davis Academy's win, rushing for 238 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Thanks to that big game, Lihan is now up to 11 rushing touchdowns on the season. Dalton Nix was another major influence, as he rushed for 70 yards and ran in a TD.
Holly Hill Academy's record is now 9-0. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, their record now sits at 7-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Holly Hill Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 367 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Jefferson Davis Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 187.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Holly Hill Academy took their win against Jefferson Davis Academy when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 28-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holly Hill Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
