The Glenbard North Panthers will face off against the Wauconda Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Glenbard North's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Wauconda has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Glenbard North will bounce into Wednesday's match after beating Metea Valley, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Panthers came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 9-6 two weeks ago. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Glenbard North got a great performance from Gina Brown as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Brown a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Tru Medina was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lauren Kozlovsky, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Wauconda fell victim to Lakes and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 6-0.
Georgia Reimers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alyssa Threde made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Wauconda's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Glenbard North, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
Wauconda's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Glenbard North has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Wauconda, though, as they've been averaging only 3.6 strikeouts. Will Glenbard North keep running through batters, or will the Bulldogs buck the trend?
Glenbard North took their victory against Wauconda in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-10 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
