The Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to Pueblo County. If Pueblo Centennial was looking for revenge after losing 62-48 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeffrey Valdez, who scored 14 points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Lenn, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
It was another big night for Johnathan Gonzales, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds for Pueblo County. Another player making a difference was Brock Roseman, who scored eight points.
Pueblo Centennial has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Pueblo County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Pueblo Centennial will be playing in front of their home fans against the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Pueblo South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bulldogs in Colorado (the Colts are ranked 97th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 214th). As for Pueblo County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Grizzlies at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mesa Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,232 points over their last 18 matchups.
