The Priest River Spartans lost against the Kellogg Wildcats last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Priest River took a 48-30 bruising from Kellogg. Priest River has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Macy Jerome continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kellogg, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Jerome is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dani Schillereff, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Priest River's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Kellogg, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.
Priest River will head out on the road to take on Kellogg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Idaho (Priest River is ranked 97th, while Kellogg is ranked 72nd). As for Kellogg, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grangeville at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Grangeville is coming into the match with 12 straight victories at home, so Kellogg is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
