Monterey entered their tilt with Gilroy on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They took down the Mustangs 62-47. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Dores' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while the Mustangs are ranked 895th).

Monterey's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Gilroy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Monterey and Gilroy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Dores are set to square off against their familiar foe Oakwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gilroy will face off against rival Ann Sobrato at 7:00 p.m. on January 13th.
