Softball Recap: Farmington Wins Going Away Against Bernalillo

Farmington never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Bernalillo Spartans with a sharp 12-0 victory. Considering the Scorpions have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Alba Allen was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaliyah Archuleta, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hailey Curley, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Farmington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They are undefeated (7-0) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Farmington has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Bernalillo, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Farmington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-6 defeat against Los Lunas on the 29th. As for Bernalillo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 7-5 victory against Tularosa on the 29th.
