Crisp Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against Central Georgia Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After soaring to 55 points the game before, Crisp Academy were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were beaten by Westwood 60-22. Crisp Academy has not had much luck with Westwood recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Crisp Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brody Ashton, who scored 4 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Tucker Ellenberg, who scored 5 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Meanwhile, Central Georgia Arts' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 79-18 loss at the hands of Rock Springs Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Central Georgia Arts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 557th, while Rock Springs Christian Academy is ranked 203rd).
Crisp Academy bumped their record down to 4-3 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Central Georgia Arts, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Crisp Academy took their victory against Central Georgia Arts in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 54-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crisp Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
