The Burbank Bulldogs were the 67-61 winner over the Hoover Tornados when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Burbank fell just short of Hoover by a score of 57-54. While losing is never fun, Burbank can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 900th, while Hoover is ranked 441st).
Kamran Alborzian and Kevin Dehbashian certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Alborzian scored 15 points, while Dehbashian scored 11 points. The match was Alborzian's third in a row with at least ten points. Areg Aslanyan was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds.
Burbank has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Hoover, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
Burbank will head out on the road to face off against Eastside at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eastside has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 6. As for Hoover, they will be playing at home against Arcadia at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
