The Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Green Level Gators at 12:30 p.m. on December 28th. Cardinal Gibbons has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Cardinal Gibbons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They put the hurt on J.H. Rose with a sharp 61-38 win. With Cardinal Gibbons ahead 36-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Charlotte Fusco and Tessa Gladieux were among the main playmakers for Cardinal Gibbons as the former scored 12 points along with six steals and the latter scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. The contest was Gladieux's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kathryn Vanburik, who scored five points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Green Level ended up a good deal behind Panther Creek last Friday and lost 47-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Green Level has scored all season.
Green Level's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Deana Prasad, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds, and Talia Austin who scored five points. Prasad scored a full 41.4% of Green Level's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Green Level struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Cardinal Gibbons' victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Green Level, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Thursday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Cardinal Gibbons have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 27.9 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Green Level, though, as they've been averaging only 27.2 rebounds per game.
