Scott is 9-1 against Cimarron since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Scott Beavers will be playing at home against the Cimarron Bluejays at 8:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Scott's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Cimarron has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
Scott suffered their closest loss yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Southeast of Saline by a score of 49-47.
Despite the defeat, Scott got a solid performance out of Jackson Rumford, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Rumford has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Sage Stoecklein was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
After soaring to a 72-point win in their last game, Cimarron came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell just short of Macksville by a score of 53-50. While losing is never fun, Cimarron can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Macksville is ranked 104th).
Scott has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Cimarron, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Scott didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Cimarron in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 51-47 victory. Will Scott repeat their success, or does Cimarron have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
