San Ramon Valley let Livermore stack six runs on them in the third inning on Thursday but luckily San Ramon Valley prevailed anyway. The Wolves came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cowboys, sneaking past 11-10. The game was the first time the Wolves have beaten the Cowboys on their field since April 8, 2023.
Lila McLeod spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and nine unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gia Ryan and Kennedy Spatz did most of the damage at the plate: Ryan went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Spatz went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ryan has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Charlie Callison was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: San Ramon Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only American Canyon walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Matadors 2-1 on Tuesday.
American Canyon also let their pitcher toss all nine innings and she was also dialed-in: Kate Sosa gave up only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, Madison Del Castillo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
San Ramon Valley's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for American Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 20-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. San Ramon Valley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like American Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs.
