Peachtree Ridge is 7-0 against Discovery since September of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Peachtree Ridge Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Discovery Titans at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Peachtree Ridge has seven straight victories, Discovery has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Peachtree Ridge earned a 27-17 win over North Gwinnett.
Peachtree Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darnell Kelly led the charge by throwing for 243 yards and three touchdowns. Myles Abernathy was another key contributor, picking up 74 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Discovery came up short against Meadowcreek on Friday and fell 34-24.
The losing side was boosted by Rylee Bradley-roberts, who rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 51 yards and a touchdown.
Peachtree Ridge's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-0. Discovery has been struggling this season, as they've lost seven of their first eight games, which leaves them at a 1-7 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday' game: Peachtree Ridge has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 160.9 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Discovery, though, as they've been averaging only 77 per game. How will Discovery fare against such a dominant running game?
Peachtree Ridge skirted past Discovery 17-14 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Discovery's Jacob Davis, who rushed for 169 yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Peachtree Ridge to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
