After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cherokee, the Tuscola Mountaineers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Madison by a score of 45-36. This was payback for Tuscola, who suffered a 58-42 loss the last time these two teams met.
Tuscola can attribute much of their success to Nora Jenkins, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jenkins has scored at least 25% of Tuscola's points. Karsen Cherry was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 11 rebounds and 4 steals.
Tuscola's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Madison, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tuscola will take on Andrews at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Polk County at 4:00 p.m. Allowing an average of 59 points per game, Polk County has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup.
