Their game last Friday wasn't at all kind to Russellville, but their most recent matchup may have softened the blow. They blew past Sheridan 21-0. That result was just more of the same for Russellville, who also won the last time these teams played.
Senior Rhett Adkins, who accumulated 222 passing yards and picked up 69 yards on the ground, was a major factor in Russellville's success. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse sophomore Caleb Gray, who racked up ten tackles.
The win bumped Russellville's record up to 3-2. The defeat dropped Sheridan's record to 1-4.
Russellville will take on Lake Hamilton at home at 7:00 PM next week. After both of those teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune. As for Sheridan, they will face off against El Dorado. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
