The Quad Cities Christian Eagles's game on January 2nd was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They took down Galesburg Christian 50-36. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Quad Cities Christian also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Piper Ochkie was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with four steals and two blocks. She hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Raegan Ochkie, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Galesburg Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Potter, who scored 14 points. Lydia Reed was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Quad Cities Christian's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Galesburg Christian, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quad Cities Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tri-State Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Tri-State Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Galesburg Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Faith Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
