The Lewiston Tigers will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Dorchester Longhorns on Thursday. Lewiston comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Lewiston struggled with assists last Monday (Parkview Christian had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lewiston was beaten by Parkview Christian 42-15. Lewiston has not had much luck with Parkview Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Justice Currie was Lewiston's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Maddie Janssen held things down on the boards with ten rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.
Meanwhile, Dorchester scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Heartland Lutheran 67-22 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Dorchester has managed all season.
Lewiston bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Dorchester, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Lewiston came out on top in a nail-biter against Dorchester when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 41-38. Does Lewiston have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dorchester turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
