Murrah lost in the closest game of the week to 29-26 Forest Hill. Vonnie Howard threw for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns in the defeat.
Columbus suffered the largest drop in the standings this week, falling from first to fourth in 6A Region 2. The drop came on the heels of a loss to Louisville during the week, 21-10.
Murrah's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mustangs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Howard has thrown for 953 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Malik Dear has 21 catches for 391 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Starkville takes on the Falcons. At the moment, the Yellowjackets are in second, while Columbus is in fourth.
Tony Stanford's team led the league in points allowed with 21.
