Lake Braddock hasn't had much luck against South County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bruins will face off against the Stallions at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Lake Braddock is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Mount Vernon as they made off with a 34-13 win. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Majors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Tyrone Jackson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 150 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 114 yards and one TD. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Samuel Rhye also helped out as he racked up 132 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lake Braddock was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 318 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, South County got themselves on the board against Falls Church on Friday, but Falls Church never followed suit. They really took it to the Jaguars for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Stallions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Jaguars are ranked 221st).
South County's win came from a few key players Lake Braddock will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amare Acheampong, who rushed for 90 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. Austin Richardson helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Lake Braddock's record is now 9-2. As for South County, their record now sits at 8-3.

Lake Braddock and South County were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in October, but Lake Braddock suffered an agonizing 23-22 loss. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
