Buena Vista's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mogtaba Mohamed, who scored 15 points. Mohamed continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Elkhorn South got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aidan Skradis out in front who scored 17 points. The game was Skradis' 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Mroczek, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Buena Vista bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.6 points per game. As for Elkhorn South, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Buena Vista will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Neumann at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elkhorn South, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln North Star at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday.
