After losing to the Ajo Red Raiders the last time they met, the Tri-City Christian Academy Warriors decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Tri-City Christian Academy came out on top against Ajo by a score of 35-24 on Monday. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Tri-City Christian Academy has scored all season.
Tri-City Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grace Johnson out in front who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. Allison Phillips was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Tri-City Christian Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Ajo, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Tri-City Christian Academy and Arizona Cultural Academy will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Arizona Cultural Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Ajo will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Arrowhead Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Arrowhead Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 22.4 points per game this season, so Ajo's offense will have their work cut out for Ajo.
