Baseball Recap: Midway Beats West Johnston for Their Third Straight Victory

Midway waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the West Johnston Wildcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Midway got a great performance from Harry Johnson as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

On the hitting side, Wesley Tew was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Camden Wilson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI.

Midway's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for West Johnston, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.

Midway has already played their next game, a 13-3 victory against South Lenoir on the 18th. As for West Johnston, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Southern Wayne on the 14th.
