Howells-Dodge extended the longest winning streak in D1 District 2 (8 Man) this week by beating Omaha Nation, 58-6. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Guardian Angels Central Catholic suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after besting Cedar Bluffs. The Bluejays had been ranked 14th, but fell to 31.
Logan Went put up the best numbers through the air as Clarkson/Leigh bested Omaha Christian Academy. He finished with five completions for 97 yards and one touchdown. Went's favorite target this week was Thomas Urban, who caught three passes for 75 yards.
Dalton Daegas-Pinkerton was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 203 yards on 36 carries as the Eagles lost to the Patriots. Tyler McDonald also contributed to the rushing game with 73 yards on the ground.
Deaver was the best wideout in the league this week as Omaha Christian Academy lost to Clarkson/Leigh. Deaver racked up two receptions for 78 yards. Daegas-Pinkerton helped Omaha Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 32 yards.
Seth Novak made the biggest impact on defense this week as Howells-Dodge beat the Chiefs. The sophomore recorded one fumble.
Jim Clarkson's team's Went and Urban have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading D1 District 2 (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Went has thrown for 383 yards this season, while Urban, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 10 catches for 218 yards. Tim Hamilton's team's Daegas-Pinkerton leads the league in rushing yards with 803.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Patriots take on Mike Speirs' team. At the moment, Clarkson/Leigh is in third, while the Jaguars are in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Patriots and Howells-Dodge face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Clarkson/Leigh comes in having scored 282 this season, while the Jaguars have scored 372. The Patriots scored 26 points last week as they topped the Eagles.
Clarkson/Leigh and Omaha Christian Academy played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Clarkson/Leigh eventually emerging with a 26-24 victory. Went ran for 45 yards in the win.
